We've been here twice and every meal has been delicious! The meatloaf was juicy and reminded of mom's cooking. The green bean casserole and mashed potatoes & gravy were just as good as Thanksgiving. And the pot roast stroganoff was also really good, better than mom's haha. We will definitely come here everytime we're in town!

Stopped in as this restaurant was hotel after visiting the Science Station museum. Staff were friendly, attentive and patient. Food options were Americana with lots of sandwiches and hearty meals. Definitely suggest the fried pickles to start.
You can play tic-tac-toe at each table with poker chips as 'x' or 'o' markers on laminated playing cards. Hand painted American history collage in the entrance is worth a detailed view as well.

The skillet’s are huge and come with a side so you might want to split them or plan to take some home. Our server was really great.
The decor is old fashioned Americana and cluttered but the food was worth it.

I have celiac and I recently tried Sara's for the first time based on the reviews on here and a well-known GF food app. They have a gluten free menu, including waffles, and my food was served on different-colored plates.
Unfortunately, I had an obvious gluten reaction. I hate to leave negative reviews & I know I took a chance because of their disclaimer that they can't guarantee the food is completely gluten free, but I hoped and thought I would be safe based on the other reviews.
Maybe it was somewhat of a fluke given that others have obviously been able to eat here with success, just be warned that it's not quite a slam dunk. For what it's worth, I ordered the breakfast wrap with bacon, hash browns, and a waffle. It was good but not worth the suffering. But I would recommend it if you don't have issues with gluten.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food presentation was nice however not up to taste. Chicken was dry and no flavor. Vegetables were watery and not a seasoning in sight. Not up to par with the price.
